Trip to Kodiak Island

Finn the Blue Weimaraner of my daughters over on Kodiak Island Alaska
I went over to meet him as he is now 9 months old. Finn with his mama above.

My favorite photo of Finn below it really shows his blue color.

My daughter's house. Below is a banya. The buildings are all made of the spruce off the land over 20 years ago.
The rain forest they live in.

The Kennicot ferry I came over on below. Not running on a schedule very well. Weather delays and such. I stayed longer than planned but it worked out as I was late getting there due to delays.

Me on the beach at Chiniak. Very private not a person in sight there during the week. Well there are a lot of photos in this post but I don't post often. I decided just to post when I can rather than close down my blog.
I have some sewing to show you too in another post. My student is back from a trip and will start again next week making a wool lined jacket and I'm making a jean jacket from a class on line I bought.

Wow Nan, you are right about that one shot of Finn really showing his blue color--looking at the other pictures of him you'd almost think it was a different dog. He sure has grown since Ingrid got him as a little pup.

Even if all you do is post pictures please keep the blog going--sometimes you might not have the time to always write something but your pictures are always so great that I know I'll miss seeing them even though I comment a lot I do check your blog regularly.

He looks like he is all legs running on the shore line. Wonderful pics and I always enjoy stopping in and hearing what you are up to....

Finn is just beautiful! What a pretty area your daughter lives in. I have been sewing some too. I made a skirt from some blue vintage fabric I found at an estate sale and am working on a "Linus Great Pumpkin" wall quilt for Halloween.

Hi Nan ! Love your photos visiting your daughter. Beautiful blue doggy! Post when you can...I'm not posting as much either lately. Too much going on and some days I just don't feel like it. We're watching this program on TV about buying homes in Alaska. Some have been in Homer. It's interesting. Love the pic of you on the beach. You look cute as a button.

It would be a sad day if you were to shut down your blog! You are so "with it" Nan and you are a treasure to many of us I am sure. The Paleo life is turning my life around, I owe that to you directly and it's true your pictures really do tell a story. Alaska is really un-like the lower 48, you are a modern pioneer and a great journalist as well!
