The Cape



Here is the cape Butterick 5987.  I made this for my sister in the 70's. It's black wool lined in crimson which has faded to a lighter red. 
When my sister passed away her granddaughter had it and I asked if I could take it back and use it so she sent it to me. (thank you Liz) I actually wear it here in Homer as it's a cape kind of town and really great for the opera too!

I loved the post of "if you love your wife take her to the opera"... And how sweet that you have the cape back. I know it gives you warm memories. Looks like you've been very busy! I've been gone so much this year & done so much remodel work that it seems I can't get much accomplished. Just putting one mess/suitcase away before the next is an accomplishment I guess... Nan, This outfit reminds me of Faye Dunaway. Just beautiful! I can't wait to see the lace top. The color is so rich.
My husband is in Canada this evening below Alaska! Edmonton? Calgary? I truly had no idea Alaska was above Canada! I have so much to learn. I didn't know about bear penguins either!

I sure could use one of these capes right now! I had shoulder surgery and my arm is in a sling for the next few weeks!

I am heading to the consignment shop this week to see if I can find a vintage one!
