First I will write you about the cranes.
On Sunday there was an incident where both parents took off and were out in the tall grass and one chick was hiding at the pond. Something had happened to the other chick. This was around 8:30 pm but still very light here. They didn't locate the other chick and the next morning they were all gone. I think something got the one and the cranes will move out when this happens and return when the other one can fly so that is what we wait for. I cannot find them anywhere in our subdivision but they are very mysterious so this is not unusual. I did not see which direction they took leaving or if they left in the morning or that night, it's all quite a mystery.
Beautiful weather the whole week our guests were here.
We took trips out to the Spit and toured around in the boat to Gull Island and Sadie Cove.

They left this morning for Seward to stay overnight there in a cabin and tour the area then leave on Wed out of Anchorage.
