Survey

Looking at this pheasant out my window with the binoculars thinking about the amazing patches of colorful feathers they have. The chest has purple on it for goodness sakes! How anyone can shoot them is beyond me. I say go buy a chicken at the store, faster and cleaner but that is me.

*Please leave me a comment saying what you as a visitor to my blog would like to see in the way of Alaska photos that I can actually take around here. Are you interested in seeing the houses here, the women, the men, the beaches, the mountains, glaciers? Give me tips okay it will give me an excuse to go out on a photo expedition. I'm sure there must be something I have not thought of you'd like to see. If you can't leave a comment then e-mail me my addy is here on the blog.

The pictures of your area are of most interest to me - just, what it's like to live there.

I love your blog -
pictures of the wildlife are wonderful.
Is there a *traditional* house in your area? I love it all...
Like David says, it is fun to see what it is like to live there.
Sunrises and sunsets are pretty too!! You seem to have really beautiful ones...
Thanks for blogging! I'm a big fan.

I have always thought they are beautiful. We don't see many around here anymore.
You commented on our yards. This is so early for them to be green. We have had ours mowed three times.
I love your sewing pictures and your others. I am always amazed at the views. So "views" would be my choice.

I absolutely love the pictures you post. I especially enjoy seeing the seasonal changes Homer has. All of your animal pictures are great and so are the mountains!

I'm always interested to see what you are sewing. Many of your pictures have your beautiful dogs looking up at you with such adoring eyes!

Please post the panda mountain picture again this year! That just fascinates me.

Your friend,
Mary

PS. I just remembered I have not said thank you for the material you sent me a month or so ago. It was fun getting a package from Alaska!

Here here! He is gorgeous. I bet the men wear all the color like the cardinals? We love all your pictures. My family enjoys you landscape pictures and your wildlife. We would love to see more wildflowers when they bloom and native trees. But we will take anything....Love it all Nan. You are a treasure...smiles...Renee

I thought that was a painting that fowl is so beautiful! Wow! what colors and you took an excellent photograph of it. It doesn't look anything like the pheasants I used to have on my farm in Iowa. They were pretty but much darker brown with blue and green. That is one gorgeous bird!
As for your blog....I happen to love it as is...it's a nice variety of nature, Alaska and Homer "goings on" and your life and your crafts and sewing and your friends and of course "the boys". I'm not into the fancy blogs where they're "linking" and "partying" and competing for prizes....that's too much for me. I appreciate blogs like yours that document your everyday life. Alaska is somewhere I have always wanted to go but may never make it so your blog means a lot to me. Mine is the boring one! LOL! But not yours!

I'm big on the outdoors so any wild life or scenery is great for me - especially if you get to travel around a bit. I do like your puppies to (I have a soft spot for pooches). I think pictures folks and daily life - especially if it is not something we typically do "south" would be interesting to. And of course the skyline at dusk and dawn - I've enjoyed some of your previous photos. Have fun!

I have been to AK and it is one of the most beautiful places on earth. I love seeing your photos of Homer. I am curious of the homes and the people who make up your community.

Reminds me of our back garden with the pheasants. My husband used to shoot them, now in retirement he buys corn to feed them. A lovely sight when they all line up in the morning (along with the pigeons).

Nan - I love all your pictures, especially of the moose, since we don't have moose here in Douglas! I love the photos of your sewing projects as well. The scenery shots are great - keep them coming! I would like to see more shots of Homer - I have a friend who lives there and would love to know more about where she lives!
