One crane is here

sorry for the window reflection on these
The cranes flew over Homer Wed the 16th and our resident crane returned today. However he is alone and spent the day calling for his mate. It really got on my nerves today and I took some video of it but it's 137MB's and won't load up on my blog. I'm hoping they just got separated and maybe he is ahead of her and she will turn up soon. All the Homer cranes are not here yet. You can see our ditch still has snow and ice in it as does our pond, but it's melting fast.
I'm back to working on the Nancy Drew wool gaberdine suit I put away because it was too dark in the winter. We have plenty of light now so I'm going to work on finishing this. This is a photo I took a long time back.  Right now the lapels are giving me fits I've never seen one done this way and it's NOT working for me. Honestly if you had as much trouble as I do sewing you'd give it up!!

I am glad to see these birds coming to see you for apring.

Hi Nan-

First off, I love the pic of the pups in the sunshine. That made my heart smile this morning. I love those two!

Looking back on your LuLu doll. What a treasure to have her. It's those moments when we bring back childhoood that we find the little girl in us. I try to cultivate that and nurture it as those it was a living garden in my soul. It's where life was simple and peaceful and always fun and so creative. I never want to grow up!

The wildlife that you share is just amazing to see and I find myself in awe of the beauty that surrounds you. I can see why you live there and I can feel how content you are just to be in a place of space and freedom, no skyscrapers and concrete cluttering up your world.

The day is drawing closer Nan for my little grandson to arrive. I like his name, Alder. Sounds solid! He should be here within the next couple of weeks. My heart is just giddy with the anticipation of his arrival.

I just hosted Kara's bridal shower last Sunday. It was simple and beautiful. In the olden days you may have 8-12 folks at a shower, now they are so big. 31 ladies, all invested in one way or another in her life. A few tears but mostly pure joy.

I need to write you, my thoughts, prayers travel your way often and I care for you, always!

It always amazes me when I see the cranes flying here--they look so awkward and out of place in the sky with those long spindly legs, but once they land and you can see that red patch on their heads they look so pretty and fit right in with things on the ground.

Beautiful bird! I hope his mate shows up or it will be a long summer for you listening to him calling for her.
Our hummingbirds were supposed to be back and I swear I saw one but there's fresh syrup I put out for them and not a one has come so I'm not sure. They come back to the same place each year like your crane.
Nancy Drew! Ilove Nancy Drew! I loved her books growing up and now I have a couple of her online mysteries that I bought for my pc. It's a video game where you go through and find clues to solve the mystery. There are many but I only have 2. I like to play them in the wintertime..too busy now!
Oh, I saw the salvage dress and loved it! If I had a better figure or wore dresses I would make that. That style of dress is very pretty and flattering.
