Little LuLu

This is my Little LuLu doll that came from Etsy. I have been looking for one for years off and on and never saw one I could justify buying. This one was $5. from a really nice dealer who made me an offer and I was thrilled to get her as she is just like the one I had as a child. I happen to have a pattern for one with a dress so I'll be making her a new red dress. She's by Knickerbocker.
This week's sewing project is a blouse which I'm lining. I'm showing you some of the 'Pik' stitches on the sleeve I do on the lining to keep it from rolling to the outside.

Nan she looks like the perfect find. One that will fit just right in the crook of a rocking chair. Smiles..Renee

My Mother's name was Lula Bell - if she was still alive I would have loved for her to have one. She could have made her dresses - she used to love to sew. Thank you for the sweet reminder of my Mother. That doll is cute!

Isn't she cute! I think I remember those dolls. I never had one which isn't surprising as I was such a Tomboy. I can't wait to see the outfits you sew for her.
Those stitches to keep the lining from rolling out should be required! I've had expensive suits that didn't have that detail and I was constantly pushing the lining back in. Now I know why!

Hi Nan! I was behind a bit on reading and just saw your Little LuLu! I love it! Isn't it such giddy fun to find something you loved from childhood? I was jumping up and down over the blue Pyrex bowl like my Mom's and I didn't even sleep with it...LuLu will be loving her new home with you!
