A Give Away, Vintage Photo, and Cold Alaska

Hi Girls I have for you today a give away. What is going on here is I'm cleaning out and reorganizing into my new craft room from the present room I've been in for 10 years.
Things I had purchased I no longer have an interest in making so I thought of my readers and decided to give all the things I find in here to you I no longer want. I will be doing a give away each week. On Saturday I will announce the two winners of the above kits.

#1. A Summerhouse table runner kit. This kit includes front and back fabric, batting, and directions. No real quilting is required on either of these kits. You can tie them off with yarn or embroidery thread instead of machine quilting that is what I had planned.

#2. A Victory Garden table topper kit. Along with front and back fabric, batting and directions.

Girls I have more for next week already so check back.
To win just leave me a comment on this post and I will take all the names down and Pan will draw for one and Kalen will draw for the other name and I'll have the photos to prove it!
My vintage photo.
Believe it or not this is me and my Mom in 1948 street walking in Sacramento, CA. The down town section flourished in those days with all the neat department stores, pharmacies, hardware stores, and of course Woolworth's. This is where everyone shopped before the invention of the
mall. There would be these street photographers and that is how this photo came about. My Mom is very protective and has hold of my hand. She was an older Mom and my Dad was 51 when I was born. Check out my shoes and that cameo my mother is wearing I still have!
 Playing at home today.
The boys on the Homer Spit today.
Today we went out on the Homer Spit and I took this shot looking back to where we live on the Homer Bluff. See that brown grass to the lower right, in there is our house. The snow is less and the winters are shorter if you live down low here.

I love that old photo! Old black and whites of days gone by are my favorites.
(p.s. I'll stay out of your fun contest, as I've got some craft room cleaning I need to do myself! :)

The scenery looks so stunning where you live!Whilst I am sure that living somewhere that is relatively remote must have its "problems" the benefits must far outweigh these and I am so envious of your seclusion.
I have only just found your blog and have enjoyed looking at all your photos of the rugged (if very icy!)scenery.
Happy New Year to you!

Count me in in all your giveaways, dear Nan. I understand if it is a long way to send stuff, but it would be magic

How sweet of you to have a give away! I love that second kit, Nan! I would love to find some dotty fabric like that around here.

How special to have a pic of you and your mom out on the town! Wish I had one of just my mom and I...

I think I saw you and the doggies waving from that brown patch! :)

I love the suit you are wearing in the photo! I remember going "downtown" with my great aunt. She would always make me dress up and wear gloves. I hated the gloves!

Thanks for entering me into your generous give-away!

Blessings

Nan, Just love that second item! How pretty! And that photos of you and your Mom speaks volumes....my Mom was this protective too and unfortunately I grew up feeling I needed to be that way with my kids. I smothered for a while...My Mom was also a worrier, was yours? What a trait to inherit! LOL
The boys look great! I am sure they love the snow now.....I have told you before you live in heaven on earth......:) Thanks for the giveaaway! Sndy

Love that photo. Your Mom has a tight hold on you. I like the fabrics for both the table runners. Looks like winter in your neck of the woods. So beautiful as usual.

I'll take this opportunity to tell you that I check in on you everyday since I found your blog after transplanting up here to AK. My husband and I visit Homer often and love the area, but thought you got more snow than you have. We live at Hatcher Pass and have TONS of snow this year.
Thanks for your blogging and hi to the 'boys' -
