Family Visits

From up on top of the bluff today. A clear and gorgeous day in Homer Alaska.
The only stoplight in town and there is an eagle on a nest in this dead tree. Lots of tourist and locals stop to view this eagle.
Below is taken on the Spit.
Our son and his wife visiting from CA and today we did a Harbor Tour given by the Pratt Museum. Part of the tour included the Salty Dawg Saloon.

 Sea life center Seward.

Thursday we drove to Seward and picked up our son and his wife after they came in on the train. We had lunch then toured the Sea Life Center there.
Driving home took me about 3.5 hours. It felt so warm in Seward with breeze off the bay. Must have been at least 70 there.

We lived in Anchorage for more than 10 years and of course visited Homer and Seward many times--It was good to see your pictures today and remember...

Wow, talk about look alikes in your family! Ingrid sure looks like you and there's no way your son and Bob could ever say they weren't father and son.
More beautiful views from Homer, thanks so much for sharing them.

Hope I didn't confuse anybody with my comment about Ingrid and Nan looking so much alike--Ingrid isn't even on here, was referring to other times when I have seen pictures of the two of them together.

You must be so happy Nan to have your son and wife with you. He looks so tall!
The nest is just awesome and the view from the mountain top made me think of The Sound of Music...the hills are alive in Alaska and it's glorious there!

Yep, we visited everything you mentioned here on our tour of Alaska last summer. We saw the eagles on top of the pole too...parked our truck and got out and took lots of pictures. We hope to visit again someday. It's only 101 degrees here today not quite as hot as yesterday. We think our freezer in our garage is slowly dying on us..probably age and this awful heat wave has done it in. We had to empty it out when we noticed it wasn't staying cold. It's over 20 years old so we got our use out of it.
