Saturday Market Skirt

Today I finished up the Saturday Market skirt project from last year. The colors are red, pink, and yellow. I tried on white for a top but I liked this green for contrast.
Below is the waist band according to the pattern. I tucked the shirt inside to show you it's wide and has a ribbon running through it. I made two button holes for the ribbon.
It called for a tie but I used an orange ribbon. The boys are doing so much better this afternoon. Kalen has a small wrap on his foot and stitches will be out on Tue. Their 24 hour flu is all over or whatever it was they seem normal now thank goodness we had such a time of it. Thanks so much for all your comments on the boys.

Your market skirt is gorgeous!!! I was so sad to read that your babies have been ill!! It sounds like it's been a very rough time for them and you. I always feel so helpless when one of our fur bundles gets sick. . . and am so grateful when they rally.

Hope you have a great weekend. . .it's gonna be hot in KC!

I'm glad the doggies are better. Nothing worse than when the furbabies are under the weather.

Poor Kalen, I hope he continues to improve. Dragon Bones takes place on the Yangzee river at the time the Three Gorges dam was built. Since I read both River Town and Oracle Bones by Peter Hessler, I enjoyed this book a lot. She even refers to River Town in her acknowledgement section. Since you liked it, I am sure you will like Dragon Bones.

Nan, your patchwork market skirt is so fun! Makes me think of the prairie dresses we used to wear in the 70's, Holly Hobbie and all that. I loved those!

I love how the skirt turned out Nan. The green looks great with it and I bet red would too since there's a lot of red in it.
