Long Hairs

This is a long haired Weimaraner. Did you know some people breed long hairs? They are the cutest pups ever.
This is a long haired pup from the Drehbar Weimaraners.
A breeder I became acquainted with while searching for our  Weim Pan back two years ago. The family is very active in the dog shows. They raise mainly hunters for family companions. They also have the blue Weims which is what I was after but it didn't work out for me.

I didn't know the long-haired breed existed. They are lovely!

They look a lot like a Golden Retreiver when they have the long hair.

Oops, Retriever. Some days I really can't spell.

I didn't even know about them! They are absolutely beautiful, Nan! Those eyes just kill me! Are you thinking about getting a long hair pup?

Hope your day is wonderful!

I like long or rough coated dogs, that's just my preference, but your boys are very handsome and they must dry off a HUNDRED times quicker than my scruffy pair :-D

I didn't realize they came in long coat. I have never seen one of these. What would be the purpose of having a longer coat? Is it just for vanity? Beautiful dogs although I love the streamline of the smooth coat. We have a hobby breeder here in Kansas for our Bullies and she and her daughter show. It truly is remarkable what these animals can do. Thanks for sharing...Renee

I didn't know you could get long haired ones! I should have realized it since our German Shepherd was long haired.

Nan,
I will try again, I wrote a long note and Blogger had a brain fart! This has to be two breeds they have bred together somewhere down the line....when I had my Weimers the steel blue was "the " color to try to achieve, even tho it was a recessive gene and the pups had problems in the begining...Bryan my son, looked into a breeder that had English Setters with hardly any length to their coats, they looked like these dogs do...an English PONITER with a bit of long hair....I wish they would leave the breeds alone....but this is how we got all of them originally, right???? Seeing as they all have one or two common ancestors and the one if the wolf....The puppies are cute, don't care for the look of the adult, I LOVE Weimers sleek coats!

By the way, thank you for the jelly beans and the bunny tag...I allow myself three per day till gone!

Wow, I didn't know they had long hairs--all I've ever seen on the ones like yours. There are a couple of them not too far from here and I see them when they walk past our house--but have never seen long haired ones. The top picture kind of reminds me of a cocker spaniel the way the ears are.

They are GORGEOUS!!! I love the ears in the second, looks like a perm! xo

hiya- thanks so much for your kind comment on my blog.
I've never seen long hairs before, they look quite like our Retrievers, but of course with those beautifully coloured coats and Paul Newman eyes!

Have a great weekend,
xx
