My Kindle

Well I knew this was coming I just didn't know how long it would take me to jump to a Kindle, mine arrived Wed. Books are transferred from Amazon by way of WiFi to the Kindle which I do not have here at the house. The library does so I drove over there to sit and pick up their free signal and get my two books downloaded on the Kindle for the first time.

The book I'm reading is Winter Sea by Susanna Kearsley and the other book I DL was the Holy Bible which then allows me to take my Kindle to church.
I also bought this pretty red cover to protect the Kindle if dropped and from wear and tear in general. The truth is this is easier than a real book to read because the words are so clear and you can adjust the font sizes to your liking. Sunlight does not effect the viewing at all since unlike a computer screen it is not back lite. Today I figured out how to download books to my iMac then in turn transfer them to the Kindle so I can work around not having the WiFi connection. I'm really loving this Kindle and I can't see why anyone would not like getting their hands on one. What are your thoughts on this?

Well now you surely know what my opinion on this matter is!
Thanks for your visit yesterday...I love my iPad, in fact I'm on it right now, writing you!

Enjoy reading!

Ciao Bella!

Well, I still like having a "real" book in front of me. So, I won't be getting one any time soon. But glad you are enjoying your new toy.

I got my Kindle about a week an a half ago. I don't have wi-fi either so I had some problems initially. I downloaded a lot of the free old classics and bought a copy of "The One Year Bible" - makes my daily Bible reading very enjoyable! It will never replace "real" books for me but is a nice addition to my libary. Now I can have LOTS more books without taking up any room!

I have a Nook and love it! I've always been a library person so this is a big change. I enjoy reading Historical Christian and I also plan to read again some of the classic books that are free.

I so much enjoy your blog, especially the dog pictures and stories. Your two pups are just beautiful and so photogenic!

Enjoy your Kindle...there was a time when I said I didn't need a computer...well,my son thought I did and set one up for me...glad he thought if not I wouldn't have ever gotten to know all you sweet blogging friends :)

Okay...that seals the deal! I keep thinking about it...saw Carmelina's post yours. As soon as I get a few more work days in--I'm getting one! So glad you're enjoying it, Nan!

You asked what the tinted tape is...Vintage Street Market carried four different tapes that are tinted. They're just like regular Scotch tape, but are colored. There's Linen (just a light yellowish tint), Soot (more blackish), Numbers (lots of random numbers printed on the tape in vintage fonts), and a vintagey brown distressed (I think it's called Distressed!) That's it!

Hope you're having a wonderful day, my friend...enjoy your new Kindle!

Oh I have been wanting one! My husband talks me out of it because he knows how much I "love" my books. I like what you said about adjusting the fonts and all! I know I would use it a lot! Especially the BIBLE, I like going on the web and using the Bible on line...I am so happy for you to get one! A couple of my friends have one and they really like it! I also thought about the Nook because of the free library I am a little bit torn...I am leaning towads the KINDLE though...thank you for posting this! I'm praying about it.

We got our daughter one for Christmas, and she loves it! She also has games she downloaded. These come in handy on the Chicago buses and trains. They also hold music, but she says she hasn't figured out how to choose the songs.

I'll say one thing about the Kindle's cover: if it's the kind which also could have come with a light, you should be aware that there are some problems with the one which doesn't have the light. Apparently, they left the electronics in place, but just didn't attach the wires to the light, resulting in shorts after awhile.

Other than that, enjoy!

You are such a techy trendsetter!! I don't have a Kindle, but I've been eyeballing them. I think I'd better wait til I figure out how to totally work the free iPod I got when I bought my iMac last fall! :) I'm not not a whiz at these gadgets!

Enjoy your newest bit of technology! I love the cover you selected....and how awesome that you can download the Bible on it!!

Have a good Thursday. It's terrible weather here in KC, MO today....rain, sleet, snow, rain, freezing rain on trees, back to sleet, snow....repeat, repeat. :(

Hi Nan. Thanks for stopping in and leaving good wishes for us today. I count you as a blessing!

I love that darling MA doll and the cute chick she's holding. I would love to have a kindle. It looks perfect for reading in bed. Less weight than a big book and no pages to try to hold open.

OOO's...Tracy :)
